NOTE—The
Chief (No. 19) will stop at Joliet, Streator, Galesburg, Fort Madison,
La Plata, Bucklin, Carrolton and Hutchinson to receive interstate
passengers destined to Williams and Ash Fork, Ariz., or California
points south of Barstow and will also stop at stations south of Barstow
to discharge paying passengers from Pueblo, Colorado Springs and
Denver, also Hutchinson and east.
NOTE—The Chief (No. 20) will
stop at stations between Pasadena and San Bernardino, at Ash Fork and
Williams to receive interstate passengers destined Pueblo, Colorado
Springs and Denver, also Hutchinson and east, and will also stop at
Hutchinson, Carrolton, Bucklin, La Plata, Fort Madison, Galesburg,
Streator and Joliet to discharge paying passengers from California and
Arizona points.
Here is the genesis train for Santa Fe's famous Chief franchise. The brand-new "extra fast, extra fine, extra fare" Chief would depart Dearborn station on November 14, 1926 with the stars of M-G-M's "War Paint" on board. The new daily service included barber, valet, ladies' maid, soda fountain, cigar store and shower bath. Extra fare of $10.00, please.
