In 1970, as a cost-cutting move, Union Pacific combined all of its City trains into one train out of Chicago (except for the City of Kansas City, which joined the combination in Cheyenne). They also eliminated the dome diners. The awkwardly large combination (which required multiple spots at many platforms) was somewhat derisively but accurately nicknamed the "City of Everywhere". This is the final pre-Amtrak timetable; Amtrak would axe all of the City trains save a modified City of San Francisco (which was combined with the Denver Zephyr over Burlington Northern tracks east of Denver).

Union Pacific said goodbye with a souvenir brochure (see it at Streamliner Memories) and "Adios!" drumheads for the final set of trains.
