By 1967 the connection between Little Rock and Memphis had been dropped, as had the service west of Fort Worth to El Paso, and the former Louisiana Eagle service from New Orleans to Longview had been added into the mix. It also appears that the Planetarium dome coaches were withdrawn at some point between July of 1966 and March of 1967.

I have a personal interest in this timetable; the Texas Eagle in the summer of 1967 was the first train that I ever rode, at the tender age of four, as my mother took me from Houston to St. Louis to visit relatives. I don't remember that much of the trip - except for my father circling Union Station in Houston, trying to find a parking place; an interminable delay (probably in Palestine) when my mother wouldn't let me use the restroom because the train was standing in the station (try explaining that to a four-year-old who desperately needs to go now); dinner in the diner after we joined the main stem of the train; trying to get a night's sleep on the floor in coach; looking out the top half of the open Dutch door at the Missouri countryside flying by in the morning; a bag of barbeque potato chips at the station in St. Louis--Okay, so it was what the psychologists might call a "formative experience". I'll never forget it.
