The City of Miami was the only one of the Chicago-Florida triplets to be built by Pullman-Standard; the other two trains were both built by Budd. The trainset featured a baggage/crew dorm/coach, four full coaches including one staffed by a nurse and reserved for women and children, a 48-seat diner, and a tavern/lounge/observation car which featured a mural of the train's route with electric lights to indicate the next principal stop along the way.
