The Wolverine had been the name of the New York Central's overnight service between Chicago, Detroit, and New York through the Canadian corridor since 1916 at the least and probably earlier. As best I can tell the train was never upgraded to streamliner status as a unified whole but rather, like Johnny Cash's Cadillac, "One Piece At A Time." By the time of this timetable it appears that the process was largely complete, with the exception of a couple of heavyweight through sleepers.
