For about a year following the 1960 merger of the Lackawanna with the Erie, Phoebe continued unchanged. In 1962, for a time, the train was combined with the New York—Chicago Erie-Lackawanna Limited. By August of 1963, the Phoebe Snow had disappeared completely from the Erie-Lackawanna's timetable. But by 1964 Phoebe was back as the no-longer-hyphenated railroad's standard bearer on a New York—Chicago routing via Hornell and Youngstown, Ohio, with through cars to Buffalo from Hornell.

Phoebe continued on this routing and on very nearly this same schedule through July of 1966. At some point later in that year, Phoebe made her last run.
